Ready to become a Girl Scout Junior? Join Girl Scout Juniors as they host this event, just for you! Find out about the fun activities you get to do as a Girl Scout Junior. You will complete bridging activities 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 and earn your very first Girl Scout Junior badge. Each troop is limited to the ratios found on p.56 of Volunteer Essentials (updated Safety-Wise) for Girl Scout Brownies: 2 adults to 12 girls. Please bring a sack lunch. Fees includes program materials and badge. Girl Scout Junior troops interested in helping for this event should sign up for Wings & Things Super Juniors.

Fairytale Town Overnight

A night of fairytale fun awaits you. This event includes a scavenger hunt, crafts and a special theater performance. Make sure you're ready with a sleeping bag and pillow for an overnight stay in this land of imagination. Groups are limited to the ratios found on p.56 of Volunteer Essentials (updated Safety-Wise) of 1 adult for each individual girl, OR for Girl Scout Daisies: 2 adults for groups of 2-6 girls, 3 adults for groups of 7-10 girls, 4 adults for groups of 11-14 girls, 5 adults for groups of 15-18 girls OR for Girl Scout Brownies: 2 adults for groups of 2-12 girls, 3 adults for groups of 13-18 girls and 4 adults for groups of 19-24 girls. Leadership in Action (LiA)

Here’s your chance to show your leadership skills as you assist your Girl Scout Brownie sisters in the Brownie Quest Journey. During the pre-session you will prepare materials to help with the Quest activities. By signing up you will also need to attend the weekend program on May 14 & 15, where you will have the opportunity to lead Girl Scout Brownies in your planned activities, as well as sharing a special skill or talent with the girls. Participants will earn the LiA award.

Rock climb through the night at Granite Arch! Learn to belay, join in team building activities and boulder in the caves. This is a girl only event, however if girls are under 14 adults from the troop must attend to belay. Fee includes belay class, equipment and climbing supervision. Digging Through the Past Interest Project

Explore the exciting ways scientists uncover information about the past with the Discovery Museum Science & Space Center. During this action packed day, Cadettes will participate in seven activities needed to complete their Digging Through the Past Interest Project. Girls should come ready to get dirty as they excavate a simulated archaeology site to learn about the people who once inhabited the area. Take a hands-on role to prevent erosion of the creek channel running through the museum grounds. Meet a professional geologist to learn about earthquakes. Study fossils to investigate the history of the earth and the animals that lived in the past. Fee includes admission to the museum.

Brownie Quest

Pack a bag and join the Brownie Quest. Travel the “Trail of the Elf” and begin to solve the mystery of the “three keys.” Play games, sing songs, and create crafts during this overnight adventure. Girls will receive a Brownie Quest book and complete the first two awards on the Brownie Quest Journey. Each troop will receive a leader packet so they can complete the Brownie Quest. Two adults are required to attend with each troop; 1 additional adult may attend for groups that have 13 or more girls. Fee includes meals, lodging, program materials, one Journey book per girl, one adult Journey guide per troop, and the Brownie Quest awards for each girl.

Wouldn't it be great to predict weather? You’d never get caught in a rainstorm without an umbrella! Learn to plan ahead and to recognize weather patterns as you earn your Weather Watch Badge at this event hosted by the National Weather Service. Meet people who watch the weather everyday, learn how geography affects the weather and see instruments that help these professionals predict the weather. Fee includes activities, snack, and badge.

Movin' On Up!

Bridging Girl Scout Juniors are invited to an overnight to begin your path into older Girl Scout adventures and the Girl Scout Cadette program. Program aides plan and lead activities to help you complete bridging requirements 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Fee includes program materials, overnight accommodations, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, snacks and participation patch. Groups are limited to the ratios found on p.56 of Volunteer Essentials (updated Safety-Wise) of 1 adult for each individual girl, 2 adults for groups of 2-20 girls, 3 adults for groups of 21-30 girls.
Accompanying Girl Scout Junior leaders and adults will have the opportunity to take the next age level training. Adults must register for training separately through the Adult Education calendar.
Program Aides for this event must be in 8th grade or above and be available to help with program setup on Friday evening on site.

Recognition of Excellence

This ceremony celebrates the leadership, service and positive impact of our council’s most accomplished young women. The Recognition of Excellence Ceremony is a longstanding Council tradition honoring all who have earned their Girl Scout Gold Award, Girl Scouts Heart of Central California Rose Award, Girl Scout Silver Award or Bridge to Adult Pin. We will also recognize Girl Scouts graduating from high school.
Girl Scout Gold Award, Heart of Central California Rose Award, Girl Scout Silver Award and Bridge to Adult recipients have met mandatory prerequisites, completed application processes and submitted all final reports by March 20, 2011. High school graduates have submitted the Celebrating Your Years as a Girl Scout form by March 20, 2011.
