A World of Girls

In this program, Girl Scout Brownies discover ways to make the world a better place. They will get to creatively act out their discoveries to share their story with other Girl Scout Brownies. This Journey will take the Girl Scout Brownies through activities along their World of Girls path. Fee includes meals, an award and basic program costs*.

Babysitting Basics

Want to become the best babysitter in town? Learn what it takes at this motivating two day seminar. Learn what to do in a crisis, basic first aid, family interview skills, and how to grow your business.
Please bring a sack lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Due to the nature of this course, one adult from each troop or individual registration must be willing to help lead a station on Sunday. Please contact the Program Specialist in charge of this event before Monday, May 20, 2013. Adults will receive a complete lesson plan, tentative schedule, and materials for their station via email. Please Note: Minimal adult participation will result in the cancellation of this event. This is not an overnight event. Fee includes a Babysitting Handbook and basic program costs*.

Digital Photography Ocean Weekender

Grab your camera and head to the coast to capture that perfect shot and work on the Artist badge for your grade level. Meet in the afternoon at the KOA in San Francisco North Bay/ Petaluma to set up camp and work on badge activities. Gather around the campfire before sleeping under the stars and spend the next day exploring local beaches, camera in hand. Troops are responsible for their own cameras, camping gear, supplies, transportation and food. Each troop must be accompanied by a Level 1 First Aider and a Troop Camp Certified adult. Please limit adults to Volunteer Essentials ratios for the grade level. Fee includes, camp site, Saturday night campfire, and basic program costs*.

Digital Photography Yosemite Day Trip

Grab your camera and head to Yosemite to capture that perfect shot while working on some of requirements for the Digital Photographer badge. This trip will start from Modesto and then head off to beautiful Yosemite by bus. In Yosemite, girls will take a photography class. Troops are free to explore the beauty of Yosemite National Park and put their photography skills to use. Troops are responsible for their own food and cameras. Each troop must be accompanied by a Level 1 First Aider. Please limit adults to Volunteer Essentials ratios for the grade level. Fee includes photography class, transportation, museum entry and basic program costs*.

This is an overnight camping program for Girl Scout troops. Each girl will enjoy a 90 minute trail ride, horseback riding and roping demonstrations, as well as some traditional camp activities. Each troop must provide a Level I First Aider. Groups are limited to the ratios found in Volunteer Essentials. Girls can register with a troop, or as an individual for this event. Individuals need to have an adult attending with them. Fee includes horseback riding instruction for girls (and adults as available), food, a fun patch and basic program costs*.

Underground Tours in Old Sacramento

Discover Sacramento’s best-kept secret. Explore excavated foundations and enclosed pathways on this one-hour guided tour. Your personal tour guide will lead you the way, revealing the history and the legends of Sacramento’s Underground. Continue your exploration while completing a fun scavenger hunt in the Sacramento History Museum. Girl Scouts will be given extended access to the Museum. Fees include guided tour, museum entry, fun patch for youth, and basic program costs*.

*There are two portions to this event, an official one-hour guided tour throughout Old Sacramento and a self-paced museum discovery portion/scavenger hunt. You may opt to do the museum discovery portion between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm either before or after your assigned guided tour. Doors will open for Girl Scouts at 4pm and close at 7pm, please plan accordingly.
*You must be available anytime between the hours of 4:00pm-7:00pm for this event. You will be notified of your pre-assigned tour time approximately one week prior to the event date. Tours start promptly and will depart at their scheduled times! Please arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to your official start time (note mandatory check-in time).

Spend the night on the historic World War II submarine in San Francisco Bay. While on board, you will go on both guided and self-guided tours explaining the submarine's operation. The audio tour, Voices of the Service, features first-person accounts of submarine life by World War II submarine veterans. Please note: there are no sleeping accommodations for men on this event.
