Financial Assistance Information

The benefits of a camp experience far outweigh the costs. Financial assistance is limited, but Girl Scouts Heart of Central California will make every effort to provide enough support so that no girl misses out on participation in camp due to lack of funds. If you feel attending camp would be a financial hardship, please apply for financial assistance. Financial assistance usually covers a portion of the camp fees. Each request is considered on an individual basis and decisions are based on the girl’s need and the availability of funds. Girls living within the Girl Scouts Heart of Central California jurisdiction and who are registered as a Girl Scout, or who want to become a Girl Scout, are eligible to apply. If you live outside the Girl Scouts Heart of Central California jurisdiction please call your local council for information about their financial assistance form and process.

 

Financial Assistance Request Guidelines

The financial assistance form is to be used when requesting financial assistance. All financial assistance applications are confidential. Financial assistance is based on need and must be clearly reflected. Your household income must be verified by attaching a copy of the first page of your most recent California or Federal Tax Return, unemployment benifits statement or similar document to the financial assistance request. The form will be returned if verification is not attached. Families are expected to pay as much as they can toward the cost of the camp. A girl may receive only one financial grant per year to attend resident camp.

 

How to Apply

Complete the entire financial assistance form. It will be returned or delayed in processing if it is not complete or if verification of income is not attached. Call the council if you need assistance in filling out the form.

If you are a registered Girl Scout in Girl Scouts Heart of Central California Council
If applying for financial assistance to Girl Scouts Heart of Central California resident camps:
Mail the completed financial assistance form (with verification of income) camp registration form and $75 deposit, in the same envelope, to Girl Scouts Heart of Central California, 6601 Elvas Ave., Sacramento, CA 95819. Or fax the forms to (916) 452-9182.

If applying for financial assistance to another Girl Scout resident camp in Northern California/Nevada:

  • Contact the Northern California/Nevada Girl Scout council offering the camp for a registration form.
  • Mail the registration form to the Northern California/Nevada Girl Scout council offering the camp.
  • Mail the financial assistance form (with verification of income) included in this brochure to Girl Scouts Heart of Central California, 6601 Elvas Ave., Sacramento, CA 95819. Or fax the financial assistance form to (916) 452-9182.

If you are NOT a registered Girl Scout in Girl Scouts Heart of Central California Council

  • Mail the registration form to Girl Scouts Heart of Central California, 6601 Elvas Ave., Sacramento, CA 95819.
  • Contact your local Girl Scout council for their financial assistance form and instructions.
