Juliette Gordon Low

In March of 1912, Juliette Gordon Low gathered 18 girls in Savannah, Georgia to begin Girl Scouts. Since then, Girl Scouts has grown into the largest organization serving girls in the United States—more than three million strong. Juliette’s outstanding leadership was matched by her stewardship. She converted the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scout national headquarters, and she gifted the property to Girl Scouts in her will.
