Resident Camp

Resident camp is an overnight camping experience where girls reside for four days or more at an established site.  Resident camp offers girls the opportunity to have fun while learning new skills, growing in independence, and developing long-lasting friendships.  During the summer months, Girl Scouts Heart of Central California offers two resident camp experiences.

Camp Menzies, our council’s 176-acre property is located in Calaveras County just east of Big Trees State Park.  Resident camp programs are offered at Camp Menzies from mid-June through mid-August.  In addition to our traditional resident camp programs we also offer travel, troop and family camping programs throughout the summer.  Camp Menzies is staffed by paid seasonal staff.  Click below for more information about Camp Menzies.

Golden Timbers Camp is held annually for one week in July at Camp Sylvester in Tuolumne County.  This program is directed by the Golden Timbers service unit and is staffed by parents and other adult volunteers.  Click below for more information about Golden Timbers.

Day Camp

Day camps give girls an opportunity to experience camp life and make new friends without having to travel too far from home.  Most day camps are directed by local volunteers and rely on parents and other adult volunteers.  Registration for day camps begins on March 1, 2013. Day camps have different registration information so be sure to review each day camp flier for specifics on how to register.
